  1. This application should only be filled out by an applicant who is applying for readmission after disbarment or resignation with discipline or in lieu of discipline. Definition is found in Rule 14-701(o). Applicants under this rule must wait at least 5 years after discipline is finalized unless the original court order stipulates otherwise. Review Rule 14-707(c), Rule 11-591, and Rule 11-566.

  2. Fees are non-refundable. Please review the Admissions Rules and to be sure that you meet ALL the requirements for Admission. Pay special attention to Rule 14-717(b), Rule 14-707(c) and Rule 14-708.

  3. The filing deadline for this application is February 1st for the July Bar Exam, and September 1st for the February Bar Exam. See Rule 14-707(c). Application fees are non-refundable even if you withdraw your application or do not meet the requirements for admission.

  4. Complete applications are processed in the order that they are received. An application will not be “fast tracked.” An incomplete application will not be accepted.

  5. Per Rule 14-717(b)(1), you are required to undergo a formal hearing with the Character and Fitness Committee. You have “the burden of proving rehabilitation by clear and convincing evidence.” You MUST be approved by the Character and Fitness Committee before you may sit for the Bar Exam.

  6. If you pass the Bar Exam, contact the district court about filing a petition for readmission. The district court must approve your petition for readmission before you will be admitted and licensed under Rule 14-716 to practice law. Review Rule 14-717(b).

  7. For your application to be properly filed, you must:
    1. submit this application online,
    2. submit the Character & Fitness Questionnaire online,
    3. upload ALL necessary documentation and
    4. pay the filing fee.

  8. Your application is not submitted until you click on the green "Submit" button on the User Home Page. Please confirm that you have submitted your application by checking Application Information on your User Home Page. Application Status should be "Submitted."

  9. You are required to maintain a current email address and mailing address. Please make sure to update any changes in your email address, mailing address, or phone number within 10 days of the change takingplace.
